“ Interactions” Exhibition Installation with the Visitors

“Interactions” was a two person show with ceramic artist Vishakha Swarup in January 2016 at the Habitat Centre in New Delhi, India. An element in our show was an interactive installation that allowed the viewer to leave a thought, an emotion, a mark behind. We had pre hung ropes which had black tiles with words carved out. They selected a blank ceramic tile, drew or wrote on it with black markers, and connected it to the ropes using my inherited fabric scraps.

‘Interactions’ attempts to discover inter-relationships between people, their thoughts and their actions.

Every moment in a person’s life is defined by the way they react to what they confront.

For every involvement there is a thought.

For every thought there is an action.

For every action there is a reaction.

This interaction between a thought and its stimulus is what we explored.
