ATTACHMENT; ABBREVIATED was a virtual collaboration with artist Kat Furtado from California, who I met through the artist/ mother podcast network. We mailed personal art materials to each other and incorporated the other’s pieces in our own works. This resulted in an online showcasing on Instagram and Zoom in May 2022, part of the Taking. Up. Space Initiative.

“As I create in isolation, interacting with my materials, sharing my work on instagram, I wanted to draw in tandem with another. Each series of events around the globe has made the distances around us smaller. Interacting, connecting, conversing with each other can now happen with the click of a few buttons. The physical space we inhabit, the geographical distance between us still exits. For both of us (KAT & I) our materials hold glimpses into our worlds, our lives, past experiences and our stories. As we share some of these materials with each other allowing, giving permission to the other to create their own narrative intermingling these remnants creating a whole new meaning.”

Here is a glimpse of how most of our interacting, conversing, sharing and hanging out happened through this special collaboration.
